Unlike the previous books on interactive whiteboards which deal primarily with technical issues (Barber et al., 2007; Braham, 2006; Gage, 2004) or provide overly enthusiastic and uncritical accounts of the technology characterized by a missionary zeal (Betcher & Lee, 2009), this book attempts to consolidate the attempts to move discussion on the subject to a new stage. He uses the term modeling to describe Campbell's two midrange processes of response acquisition (observation of another's response and modeling), and he claims that modeling can have as much impact as direct experience.
